- Microstrip-fed Ring Slot Antenna Design With Wideband Harmonic Suppression
- IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation In this paper, microstrip-fed slot antennas with suppressed harmonics are proposed. To obtain this operation, conductor lines connected with ground plane are inserted in slot antennas. To verify the validation of the proposed antennas, the equivalent circuit analysis is presented.
- Abstract:A simple, compact, slot loaded stacked wideband microstrip patch antenna is presented in this communication. The radiating element consists of a rectangular patch with a T- shaped slot and is fed by a 50 Ωmicrostrip line. The proposed antenna is simulated using IE3D software, 12.32 version of Zeland.
- A microstrip tee-fed slot antenna is made up of only a single printed circuit board having the tee feed and slot on the front side and a microstrip transmission line feed on the back side.
The first is the design and parametric analysis of Inset fed rectangular micro-strip antenna which operates at the central frequency of 6.57GHz.The second aspect is the design and parametric analysis of slot cut E- shaped micro-strip antenna. The simulation process has been done through high frequency structure simulator (HFSS).

Microstrip Fed Slot Antenna Designs
A microstrip-fed slot antenna was designed using Antenna Magus for the following specifications:
- 5 GHz centre frequency
- 50 Ω input impedance
- FR4 substrate, ε = 4.35, height = 1.5mm
Dimensions of the slot and feed-line are:
- Ws = 743.3 μm
- Ls = 18.58 mm
- Wf = 2.892 mm
- Wm = 625.7 μm
- S = 8.053 mm
FEKO’s implementation of the planar Greens function features the ability to model the slot in the ground plane as magnetic triangles, which means that only the slot is meshed and not the ground plane itself, saving significantly on simulation resources.
